The military museum contains relics from the First Marquess of Anglesey, who famously commanded the cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo in present day Belgium.

There's a fine spring garden and Australasian arboretum, with an of shrubs and wild flowers, an italian-style summer terrace, and a mass of hydrangea which give autumn colour.

A woodland walk gives access to a delightful spring and early summer rhododendron garden.
